The Iran-Pakistan joint border provides a chance for both counties to further strengthen economic relations which have to be protected from any source of insecurity, said Raisi in a meeting in Tehran on Saturday where he received the diplomatic credentials of Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Muhammad Mudassir Tipu.
Referring to the presence of US proxies in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria, Raisi said that Iran favors regional cooperation to counter terrorism.
The Pakistani ambassador, for his part, said that his country will never let the hostile countries misuse the country's borders with Iran.
Islamabad feels duty-bound to safeguard border areas and fight with any source of insecurity in the region, the ambassador said.
